Tribute to my dad...

“You are the best man I have ever known”. Those were the last words I barely audibly uttered to my father as I watched him slip away from his earthly body. The thing is, I really meant those words. What a lucky woman I am to have been blessed with such a dad. My dad Kitrick Lee Lauer (aka “Kit”) was not perfect by any means, just as no human is. But, he truly was the most wonderful man that I have ever known.

This is a difficult time for me as father's day approaches. What a wonderful man he was and I will always be grateful for him.

Love you forever dad!

Maisha

I couldn't agree more. I am so sad and more sad by your sadness. Your dad was such a great man and father to you both. He loved you so much. I will be praying for you and Mickey extra hard this fathers day. I heard the song again today on the radio by Jeremy Camp: There will be a day, and I always think of you and your family. Always! I love that song so much more now with the pain of losing your dad. It makes me so happy for that day but mostly for you guys and the Johnson's and Buddy and Becky. (The people I know that have the greatest loses.) I am sure you have heard it but if not you must. Its so comforting. There will be a day with no more tears no more fears. Jesus will wipe away your tears and the burdens of this place will be no more we'll see Jesus face to face. Those are my favorite lines. They bring tears to my eyes! They make me so hungry for that for all of you and everyone if such pain. l love you Maisha. Please give my love and hugs to your mom! See you soon in the big TX (-: I am going to give you guys the biggest hugs! Get ready! xoxoxo

Maisha, I love it that you are continuing this blog to honor your dad. Much love to you - I understand that it would be very difficult this Father's Day - of of the many "first" holidays without him here on earth.

It is very difficult saying goodbye to your amazing father and this memorial site keeps him near for all of us. I know you and Mikey miss him greatly and this Father's Day will be so different with him in Heaven. I am sure if you ask Jesus to tell your dad, He will pass on your love and the messages that you would have told your dad here in person. It's not the same, it will just have to do for now.

I love the song Nicole mentioned. It is now one of our favorites as we look forward to seeing Jesus face to face, and our precious son, and our beloved Kit.

We love you Lauers and send our love today and always.

Maisha,
What a beautiful tribute to your Dad. Your words and feelings are surely arriving in Heaven. I am crying with you. He was such a wonderful man of God. I walked in Ephesus last month and couldn't help but be reminded of the Apostle Paul and how much your Dad reminded me of his teachings right down to the end. His devotion to Christ touched so many and Maisha, you are in his footprints right now keeping this blog going. Did you ever dance on his feet when you were little? I picture that is what you are doing now...dancing together through your love for Christ. My prayers and tears are with you. Looking forward to Saturday.
love, Tamara

We will be in great prayer this weekend as you go through one, of a whole years worth of firsts. It was am honor to get to know Kit and listen to him preach the word.
He was the best! We wish we could be there for the run. I absolutly love the song by Jeremy Camp as well. I turn up the radio and tears just fall as I know the words
are so true. What a day that will be, as your dear daddy always talked about. We are so glad your mom has you there with her to help.

Much love and prayer to you and family Nick and Sharon
