Kit's Savior Loves, Kit's Savior Lives

This photo was taken from Maisha's Facebook page. I love this photo of them, don't you? Below is a worship song we know Kit and Maisha like. I think we all like it too:

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior

I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me; this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

Chorus (2x's)
My Savior loves, My Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me
My God: He was, my God; He is
My God is always gonna be

Yes, living, dying, let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring;
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

My Savior loves, My Savior lives
My Savior loves, My Savior lives

*** Kit's is doing ok (I know you always want to know how he's doing) Of course, your prayers are always appreciated.

In addition, any fun times (even crazy times) you have with Kit that you want to share here in the comment section would be appreciated too (for the Proverbs says, laughter is a good medicine :). OK, even if it's serious and not funny, like how God blessed you or inspired you to walk closer to Jesus through Kit's testimony, feel free to share in the comment section. I know that's an encouragement to Kit and family :)

And if you just want to say "hi" just stopping by, that's ok too :)

I'm posting for a second time because I messed it up the first time. Sorry this thought isn’t a funny memory, but I wanted to share it anyway. Every day, before I click on “The Journey,” I pause and ask God to make the news good, to give us something to celebrate. The unsettling reports of the past few weeks have been more than a bit disheartening. Just a few days ago, while I was listening to a message about living boldly for Jesus, something struck me about Kit. When the pastor described the courage that comes from God the Spirit, he was really describing the life that Kit lives. While most of us are busy going through the motions, living superficially, Kit is living daily above the superficial--and he wants others to join him there. As Christians, most of us wish we had Kit’s boldness to so freely share the gospel with others, to be so explicit in his affection for others and love them so openly—to literally reach out and touch others. If you have a relationship with Kit, then you know his touch because Kit touches everyone he meets. He physically touches everyone. He puts his hands on people and loves them like no one I have ever known. And he doesn’t ask for permission! With Kit, it is so much more than bodily touch. Listening to the pastor’s message, it struck me that when Kit touches people, he is actually extending God’s hand, proclaiming His truth. So, if you have a relationship with Kit Lauer, then you have experienced God’s touch. It was a warming thought for me. We love you, Kit!

There have been so many fun and crazy times with Kit that even as I sit here now, I start laughing about them. Let me share one that sticks out in my mind.

Kit and I used to play golf on most Mondays, his day off. Everyone knows Kit is a ferocious competitor and, let's just say, he doesn't like to lose. We had an ongoing battle each week where Kit would do his darndest to beat me on the golf course, but something always happened where he came up short each time (I would be able to get into his head. LOL.).

On this one particular Monday, we were playing at was then known as the Silversword Golf Course (now know as Elle Air). We stood there on the 18th tee box waiting for the group in front to clear the fairway so we could tee off. It was apparent on that particular day that Kit was not going to win yet again. You could sense his frustration as he paced around on the tee box. Suddenly, he gets that special Kit gleam in his eye and says "I know how I can beat you on the golf course! We're going to have a wrestling match!" With that he lunged at me and we proceeded to start grappling right there on the tee box, rolling around in the grass.

I was laughing so hard, I thought I was going to pee in my pants. I cried uncle as he had me pinned down. It must have been the funniest site to the other golfers, seeing two "mature" men wrestling on the tee box. Kit got up and said "Now I can finally say I beat you on the golf course."

Months later, and the final time that Kit and I played golf together, he did beat me straight up, fair and square. After dozens and dozens of mano e mano matches on the golf course, Kit never gave up, he fought the good fight, he had run the good race, and persevered to claim the victor's crown.

And that my fellow saints is how Kit lived life each day. When he finally stands before the bema seat of Christ, our Lord will bestow upon him the imperishable crown of life and say "Well done my good and faithful servant."

God bless you my brother!
