On Peaks and Valleys...

I appreciate your continued prayer for me to be able to speak at both services on Sunday. It is always a wonderful privilege and honor to share God's word with the body of Christ.
Like many of us, I've been through lots of peaks and valleys in this life. The word of God has a lot to teach us about both peaks AND valleys. We love being on the peaks...that's always thrilling, exciting, wonderful when all things just seem to be going "right". But, "right" to us is not always the same as right to God. God has much more in store for our lives than just standing on a peak screaming, "I'm the king of the world!".
You have probably noticed that peaks don't provide a lot of room for others and, if we stay there too long, maintaining that position can become a very selfish endeavor. This is why God allows us to have valley experiences. It seems that true growth, maturity, character development, sense of compassion, the real meaning and depth of the things of God are discovered when we find ourselves in the dark valleys of life.
It's my prayer that this message will help us to understand why we must go through these valleys, and how we can grow in our relationship with God....emerging out of the dark valleys as a well sharpened instrument whose life is given to serve the living God and all that is good and truly right.
May all of our lives be inspired through God's great love as exemplified through the sacrifice of the Son. That that same love would flow through our spiritual veins embracing our families and our loved ones, and out even to the uttermost parts of the earth.
Love,
Kit

Dear Kit,
We only get to Maui once a year, and each year we attend Hope Chapel for the 2 or 3 Sundays we are here. We must have just missed the announcement about your leukemia last year. We were so sorry to hear that you are going through such a difficult time. We are very thankful we were able to hear you speak this year. You ere the first person we heard speak when we came to Hope Chapel, and we've never bothered to check out any other churches since then.
Your message Sunday was excellent, God is really using you to reach lost reach lost souls. Thanks so much and we will be praying for you and your family.
We will be following your journey from our home in California.
God Bless,
