Thursday Update

The Lauer family's hearts, and especially my dad's, continue to be overwhelmed by the outpouring of your love.

To bring you up to speed, the "good white blood cells" (aka neutrophils) continue to multiply...they are now at 500, but the doctors would like to see the number at 1000 before he can start the 2nd chemotherapy treatment. He has not had a fever for four days now! Praise God!! :) this indicates that we are winning the infection battle.

Please pray again for an increase in neutrophils and the other components of the blood (platelets and red blood cells-he had to have a RBC transfusion yesterday) as well as a stand still or a decrease in the production of the abnormal white blood cells "blast cells". And, of course, we are praying the when my dad is healthy enough for the chemo...this next treatment will knock out those bad cancer "blast" cells.

We can't thank you enough for the love, care and support that you have shown to us. We just know that we wouldn't be able to make it through this without you guys. Statistically, my dad's chances of making it through the next chemo and having the cancer cells knocked down is around 30%. It is a small target...but as my dad keeps saying that even though it may be a small target...if it is the hand of God then the target will be hit.

"fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are mine. and when you pass through the waters, I will be with you. and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you for I am the LORD your God the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour..." Isaiah 43:1-3

We love you all! Maisha on behalf of the Lauer Family

Love ya Brother co-laborer in christ. Did Ya get the cassette healing stream I gave to Craig to get to you ? Kelly is lost again, abandoned trip to go be with my boy Andrew anduopport needed to take Andrew for test at Baylor Clinic Hospital Houston ,come June. God is with me in the Process, no matter what man may be busy doing Hallelujah. Got praise reports, Lord is opened doors for heartfelt caring community folks in for instance Easter Seals in the workings of Gods Plan and timing to bring my Andrew bear home. Pray for him , his eyes have been rolling into the back of his head and he says he cant see a thing. We do know he still has periferal vision, Genetic clinic eval in June will be a bridge to better understanding and how to help my boy function indepently. Yes being nearest to God is awesome, and yes it does seem when we are at our weekest places(seasons), he is more eminently here right beside you and I Us allFor real Bra He does not leave us or forsake us, thankyou Jesus Love Susan Bryant hope you liked the calender date book I gave you last friday you were here. God does soo Love Kit amen.

Dear Brother in Christ,
Our Snowbird Ohana (aka Old Folks) has brothers and sisters all over the country praying diligently for you. We are so happy that our Lord has caused your normal white cells to increase and pray that at least 1000 will be reached very soon so that you can move on in your treatment.
Kit, you have united Hope in love and faith through your courage and trust as you walk through this valley. Praise God for His love and guardianship of your body and soul.
We love you brother and wait impatiently for your return to Hope. Thank you for your faith.
In Jesus' love,
Marv, Michele and the Snowbird Ohana

You always say that sometimes what we pray for is not what God wants for us. Not in this case. We keep praying and the cells keep growing in number. Isn't that amazing. The only explanation for this is that God knows we're praying for the right thing and He will give it to us.
Praying for you every second.
Love

Hey to Lauers far & near

Praise God for rising good blood cell counts and my gratitide for the diligence of you all to communicate through this blog. I can't tell you how wonderful to return from Ethiopia and so easily be able to get up to speed with your situation and be able to share both the tears and the celebrations of your journey.
