Wednesday Update

Here is a picture of Kit as "chemo man" fighting the leukemia :-)

My dad is 2/3 done with the chemotherapy treatment (tonight will be his last dose) and, so far, the only side effects are night sweats.

My dad keeps reiterating that we need to pray that the LORD continue to guard him and that as the chemo kills off all of cells (good cells included) he will be protected against infections.

Also, we pray that the bone marrow test (scheduled for may 12) will show that the cancer cells have been killed off by the chemo. We pray that this 2nd round will work!

My dad wants you to know that he continues to fight the good fight...and he will continue to do so.

I leave you with a scripture that my friend Lisa gave me:

"Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need" Hebrews 4:16

Love, Maisha and the Lauers

I LOVE the picture! I'm glad you are up and about--building up more and more strength to fight the side effects of the intense chemo.

That verse got me through lots of tough times duirng my struggle with depression. It is just as relevant now.

May God be with you tonight so you can rest before the chemo side effects kick in.

Always praying,

Lisa E

Kit,
I don't know if you knew this but one Friday night a broken girl sat in the back row of Hope Chapel. She sat in the church and was convinced that there was nothing that could be said here that would be different. She thought she'd heard it all. She was wrong. That night in the back row that broken girl gave her life to the Lord. God's words came from your lips to her heart and that life will never be the same. That girl was me. I want you to know that your obedience and continued faithfulness to the Lord has touched my life and so many others. It is such a blessing to be an observer of your life. I get to watch God's patience, perseverance, joy, humility, kindness, and heart personified in you. Your example as a husband, father, friend, and teacher is something incredible and worthy of pride. As the situation is everything but easy it amazes me where you can find God's beauty. As each doctor and nurse come into contact with you they get to see Jesus and what a purpose that is. Through this difficult trial God's strength will carry you and that is my prayer for you and your family each day. Keep fighting and thank you for your example. Hope to see you soon.

With love and inexpressible gratitude,

Sally Hessemer

Kit, that picture is precious. Lynn, Ryan and I are all visiting on Maui. We really miss not seeing you here (on our walk) and want you to know that we are praying for you as a family. These people here at Hope are so touched by your circumstances, your name is on their lips constantly. I have never seen such an outpouring of love for one family. You are truly blessed. Keep fighting, we are all in your corner.

Dear Chemo Man...you look so young and cute in that picture that I thought you were Mike!!!

I read this scripture today and I thought about you Kit.

"We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you(KIT), because we have heard of your FAITH in Christ Jesus and of the LOVE you have(KIT)
for all the saints(US)".

We love you and we're praying for you!
