Jan 9 Update - Thankfulness

Fri. Jan. 9Th
Kit had a pretty good night last night. He just told me that he wanted me to let you know how thankful he is for so many things. The fact that his brother Buddy is okay after being run over by a truck with his bike and to see how many people just rallied and prayed for him..is a wonderful testimony to sowing in to the body of Christ. It is a comfort to Kit to know that so many people love his brother, the way that Kit does. Most of you know that Buddy and Kit started the Fri. night service together years ago and the worship teams today still flow with the same creativity and freedom that Buddy brought as a worship leader.
Kit is thankful that his son and daughter-in-law are coming to be with him from Oregon. They fly in on Wed. and Kit and I are so thankful to Mark and Jori Spencer because they set up the whole thing. Kit said," My heart is so thankful because I see our body of Christ is really putting in to action their faith... it is a very powerful testimony to those around us of how God's love can grab a hold of our lives and cause us to be much richer and fuller and touch more lives and cause our lives to be much more than we could ever imagine. I don't really know God's ultimate transition plan for me in to eternity in terms of the timing, I am physically very weak and tired, but my desire is to serve the Lord if he should choose to give me the energy and health to do so. I am very thankful for the ministry that God has given to me and my hearts desire is to continue to be able to expand upon the truth and knowledge that God has imparted to me. I still want to teach and help others enhance their relationship with God and to help them prepare for those difficult times in life that come upon us . We have God,we have His great gift , the life of Christ..and we have one another....and this is more than enough for a lifetime of thankfulness."
Kit fell back to sleep, so... I am continuing on... We just got the information about Kit's blood work and his white blood cells are 3.900 (18 % are neutraphils) so... things are looking up...the red blood cells and platelets are about the same, so... we are not sure if the red blood cells will be transfused today or not. The doctor is taking one of the anti biotics away and now he will only be on 3.
Last night, when Kit was asleep, and I was in my little cot ,near his bed, there was a knock on the door and we had a visitor. Laura Bagby's dad, Ron, was there to visit us, after he was up visiting his wife... What a wonderful visit we had.. out in the hallway.. He is such a loving person...no wonder Laura is the way she is... He offered to have me come and eat out his house etc... The body of Christ is HUGE and so honoring to our Lord .
I know this is long... we love you guys.... shelly and kit

Kit-
You GOT it, my friend.
I hear your heart through your words, and if that's your heart's desire I AM GOING to pray FOR THAT! Because His Word says that when we DELIGHT ourselves in the Lord, He GIVES us the DESIRES of our heart! Right?
YEH! SO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I'm prayin' you will be "up-and- attem!" Kit!
You GO, guy! You go!
Go God! Go God!
Do your work in him!

Also want you to know that when you have especially GOOD days, I don't have the unction to check your blog right away and am not led as much into prevailing prayer", the kind where you are like, prostrate, in the spirit, pressing in kind. INTERESTING!
I noticed there are only 2 blogs today before me....AM. It's 12:55 YOUR time now...

Just got in from weeding the garden. Was thinking how the Holy Spirit does the "weeding" in our gardens. I love it the way the Lord speaks to me when I'm in my garden.
You mentioned a "secret garden" in some of your night mumblings. Wonder if your were speaking about the Lord's... I could definitely see Him in a lovely garden!

I read Shelly's good report....
tomorrow's Julian and my 5th anniversary. We'll celebrate with dinner out at the Chart House (salad bar). I miss the seared ahi I used to have on Maui! GREAT to hear you're eating! Good for you!

So, we continue to hold you.
We pray your white blood cells and neutrafils will REALLY KICK IN!

And Shelly...I LOVE it that you're on a cot next to Kit's bed. Have you been there the entire 3 weeks?
What beloved devotion!
KIT- You have a GREAT wife!
You are BLESSED!
And Shelly, you've got a great guy for a husband!

Check ya later,
LOVE, and thanksgiving for you and for Buddy bein' OK,
Your "sis" in Christ,
Cathryn (True Varlet)

Kit, You said that you wanted to enhance people's relationship with God and thru this journey , you are doing exactly that. You and Shelly continue to be "light shiners" for Jesus in each blog and in the way you are living your lives during this difficult time. That is one of the reasons I check into this blog each day. You are such an example for me. thank you. This side of heaven there is none better than you and Shelly.

God Bless!!!

Shelly,
I was very happy to hear about Kits good day yesterday. I just wanted to let you know that you know that you and Kit are in my thoughts and prayers right now. The girls in my bible study group are praying for you guys as well.
I have such wonderful memories of your family and the time we have spent together, and now your faith and devotion to the lord inspire me in my own journey. You are such wonderful examples of the Christian faith, and the lords ability to work with whatever is going on in our lives to remind us of his presence. The courage and strength you have shown is truly remarkable and I have nothing but love and admiration for you.
Kit mentioned that he would still like to teach and enhance others relationship with god and prepare them for the difficulties they may face. I hope you can tell him that by his example he continues to teach about the power of love and faith in the lord and about facing difficult times with courage and strength. I know that I have learned a lot from it. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

love,
Mimi Hunter

and now Buddy is in the hospital,...it seems higher forces are at work. About 30 years Buddy, Kit and I cut wood together and at the end of the day, Buddy said off hand, "jimi can have my share" It blew my mind because it was Kit's wood and Buddy's chain saws and splitter etc. I was suppose to be the "grunt" and do all the work, but I hurt my back and was basically worthless. I'm somewhat ashamed to say I wound up taking mine, Buddy's and most of Kit's. I never really mentioned it later, but it had a powerful impression about putting other's first. Kit and Buddy , Thanks for always putting others first. Lve Jimi

Kit, I just wanted to tell you how important this blog is, and the accuracy that Shelly gets it to us. The other day I was in Cave Junction having lunch with Danny and Vickie called and told me how a Volkswagon ran Buddy off the road and he crashed while riding his bike. That is why Buddy hadn't called me back. Then I got another call on how a long haired howly in a volkswagon had actualy ran Buddy over and drug him with his leg stuck in the bumber all the way to Big Beach. When I finally got the real story.. I thanked God it was just an icecream truck...

I love you all and am very glad that you are feeling better and that Buddy is ok!!!
Take care of yourselves,
Rick

Hi Kit and Shelly!

I love you guys. I'm so glad I'm back home on Maui so I can be closer to you and Maisha.

I was at the mall the other day to get a photo of Kieran with his cousin visiting from Ireland at Sears. We dressed them up in the same aloha shirt and his cousin (who is two) didn't like that the baby was wearing "his" shirt.

Anyway, he tried to pull it off him and everything went downhill from there...one would smile while the other would cry. I was going to leave the mall, defeated and I thought I'd see if Maisha was in at Lens Crafters and she was there in her white coat assisting a patient. I'm so proud of her and I can imagine the way you might feel to see your baby girl helping people see!!!! Just like Jesus...well, kind of. :)

Anyway, we ended up having lunch together and it was good to talk. We are so thankful for being part of your ohana from the very early days of our life here on Maui 20 years ago...

Thank you for keeping us posted on this journey. You are both so special to me.

Love,

June

Hi Kit and Shelly,
Just thinking of you and glad to know you are having better nights and more restful days. I love how Kit has this amazing gift of sharing the essence of himself so clearly. He lives every moment with such intentionality, focused on the passion of his life—Christ in us, the saving Grace for all!

This scripture seems perfect today:1 Corinthians 1:3-9
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN:)

Thank you for imparting your wisdom and love to all of us. Shelly, please tell Kit if he keeps coming up with this great "stuff" on the blog, I am never going to finish The Journey!(haha, just kidding!) Keep it coming:)
Love,
Robyn
