Jan 8 Update and the Story About Poop :)

Thurs. evening ... just a quick note... Kit is sleeping after eating a little dinner tonight. He is very tired and rests a lot. But... today was a pretty good day... not too much pain. We praying for the blood counts to go up tomorrow.

When I read Lisa's e-mail ... I had to write... explaining my niece's nickname. When my brother and I were in jr . high... my sister , Carol, had a little baby girl... her name was Kathie... We loved her so much, and when Mike and I would walk home from school , we would go to my sister's house to see our little precious niece. I gave her that nickname then..Poop! I don't think it had anything to do with pooping diapers... it was just a cute name to me..because she was so adorable... and I love it when she signs her name Poop... because it brings back loving memories of a wonderful time in our family's life..

Well.. I am going to shut this computer off. I love you and appreciate your comments.... shelly

Shelly, It's good that you know when to shut out the world. We're on the road and my last comment didn't go (probably because I was being thankful for the great technology....and, then, it failed me. We all know how that is, God working on my character.
Your post was a breath of fresh air, no strange dreams for Kit, blood count coming up and Buddy on the mend. Praise God. Now we know the meaning of "pray continually" . We're lifting you up
Love Barb for both

Thanks for the update Shelly. I had to laugh at your explanation of your nieces nick name. Very cute! A bit of comic relief.

May you both have sweet dreams tonight and a good report tomorrow.

Trusting and praying! Love you guys!

Dear little sister,
Like everyone else, I check the blog many times during the day for (hopefully) good news. I got a kick out of your comments about Kathie being called "Poop". Actually, I had nicknamed her Poopsey because as a breast fed baby, she pooped all the time. You and Michael shortened it to "Poop". I know it is not a glamorous nickname. :) I also called her "Birdie" all the time which has continued on to so many of our little girls.

I pray Kit's blood tests improve so that you two can go home soon.

I was horrified to hear of Buddy's accident but it sounds like he will be OK. As you know, we all love and respect Buddy so much.

Take care of yourself, my dear sissie. I love you so much.

Carol

I recently received this email and wanted to pass it on to you.
Malachi 3:3 "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver".
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what the statement meant about the Nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next bible study. That week, the woman called a Silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a peice of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining sliver, one needed to hold the sliver in the middle of the fire where the flames were the hottest as to burn away all the impurities. The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time. The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined? He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy--when I see my image in it!"

It's 3 in the morning and I can't sleep, so I'm updating my blog reading. You make me cry and you make me laugh, and I miss you both so much. Tomorrow I'm going to 302 for the first time (she's asking for me) and won't be the same without you.
I love you guys and I'm praying for you non stop.

Good morning to the two of you. It is so good to have a smile while reading your blog. You are a truly amazing couple. Isn't it just wonderful to have someone that you love so much be able to share the good and bad. I always tell people stay together, it goes back full circle and the love in the later years is the best, right!!
Then you put God in there right up front and it multiplies everything.
Still praying, never ceasing. I have all kinds of thoughts about your Journey and how people come into each others lives. It is something that brings me to tears almost. It is hard to explain. Have a beautiful day.

So glad Kit is feeling a little better - still praying always:) Liza's posting of the proverbs was awesome - your post made my day yesterday:) This blog is awesome - great way to stay connected and know how to pray for you guys!

speaking of nicknames - we call my nephew Doodle. My mom used to say 'he's such a doodle!' and it kind of stuck. He is only eighteen months right now so it is alright but I think he might have some complaints later :) His name is Kade.

My parents say hello and that they are praying too :)

Love you all - praying always
Andrea:)

oh yes - and one more thing - you have probably heard (maybe from Maisha) but my brother and Brittany got married in Brittany's hometown on December 29. It was beautiful - Maisha has access to the pictures:)

So I guess you could say that I got a sister in law for Christmas:) Great gift. :)

Love you guys!
Andrea:)
