Pleasant Words Are Healing To The Bones ...

"Pleasant Words Are Healing To The Bones ..."

I had this verse on my head for a couple of days now, so finally I Googled the words to find out if this is really in the Bible and where exactly it is written. Well here's what I found:

It is on Proverbs 16:24:

New American Standard Bible (©1995)

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995)
Pleasant words are [like] honey from a honeycomb- sweet to the spirit and healthy for the body.

King James Bible
Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.

The comments being spoken (and written) here are healing to the bones. Keep them coming. It does not matter if you have commented previously, feel free to comment once a day if you can.

To those who do not know how - learn how. It's easier than you think it is.

To those who are just coming in and didn't know what we are doing, we are "talking story" about Kit while continually praying for him and while waiting for updates. Share in the comment any stories of you and Kit (and Lauer family) - how you met him, how he blessed you life, funny stories will do also :)

NOW, I am not imposing unnecessary guilt to those who are not really into blogging or not really comfortable leaving comments (I thought I should clarify that). That's ok, you may encourage on other ways. Shelly and Maisha are in Facebook, or you can e-mail them (kit@maui.net). Whatever means, as long as you keep on encouraging in this time of waiting for a miracle to come.

If you want to the read latest update so far, click HERE.

Love from your blogging crazy friend,
Liza

P.S. Aside from "healing the bones" we are keeping Shelly entertained by our comments while she's there with Kit in the hospital

Just another comment about Kit.....I don't think anyone could be near Kit without him reaching out and touching us or rubbing our shoulders or just showing his love in a tangible way as he spoke to us. Some people are touchers and Kit and Shelly are. They have touched all our lives in so many ways and we can now, hopefully, touch them by sharing our love via this blog.

Marsha and Phil, I agree. I was thinking about that too- how Kit always has a gentle touch on my shoulder when he says hi and how are you doing :)

Praying Lord for Your Sweet Spirit to hover over Kit and Shelly. Lord Jesus please touch Kit's body, strengthen every part of his blood so he may come home. Thank you Jesus, we know you hear our prayers and Love the Lauers more than we do!

One of my favorite teachings from Kit was the Sunday he preached on the book of Esther. Katie and Nick were young teenagers at the time and we FORCED them to get up and go to church. They had sullen and resentful attitudes before church and just for the occasion, Katie dressed up as Satan! I pretended not to notice the wild red eye makeup coordinated with bright red lips, red choker and red outfit. Ha!

As Kit started his message on Esther the beauty queen, he pranced around the stage like a model on a runway! He had so many funny ways of bringing his message to life! And we laughed so hard, and after church, smiles and laughter and peace replaced any attitude. Then Kit came over and talked so lovingly and engagingly to Katie and Nick.

That Sunday was one of many that Kit helped win the hearts of my kids to the Lord. Now every time Kit preaches, we all make an extra effort to go and hear him.

Kit, keep on preaching and winning hearts to Christ!!! We love you and need you so much!

Good Morning Kit & Shelly,
This is the scripture that was rolling around in my head this morning as I was thinking of you:

Malachi 4:2
But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall.

I had forgotten the second part about the "leaping like calves" and when I looked it up, it made me smile thinking about both of you--when you are released from the hospital room, I know you will be leaping like calves, too, huh?!

We ALL will be!
Love in Christ,
Robyn

Morning Kit and Shelly!
It's 12:30 California time, 10:30 YOUR time.
Had my ipod on and was thinking how you mentioned "I Can Only Imagine", Kit, as a song that talks about being with the Lord. ...Just then "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns came on.

CHECK OUT THESE LYRICS!
(Reminds me of your Seminar you're gonna send me! On Loving God With Your Mind! after studying Cosmology and the Existence of God)
Check this out:

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
would choose to light the way,
for my ever-wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who You are.

CHORUS:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling,
Lord,You catch me when I'm falling,
And You've told me who I am.
I am Yours.
I am Yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
would look on me with love
and watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
would call out through the rain,
and calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what You've done.
Not because of what I'VE done
But because of who You are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still You hear me when I'm calling,
Lord,You catch me when I'm falling,
And You've told me who I am.
I am Yours.
I am Yours....

I am Yours....

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
'Cause I am Yours.

I am Yours.

Man, are you EVER HIS, Kit!
He's holding you.
Hope you got my email where I printed out Psalm 139- ALL of it!
Or maybe Shelly read it to you OUT LOUD!

Hope so. In any case, read Psalm 139 AGAIN!

Love you, my friend!
Psalm 91
You're under the shadow of the Wings of the Almighty!

Your friend and buddy in ministry.
Bless your father heart, Kit!

Shelly-
Sorry for any disturbance yesterday. I see you were blogging at the SAME time I called. Do you hook into the phone line? Maybe that's why it just kept ringing. No worries. God bless you, Shell! Just wanted you to know your email bounced back with the address you gave me. mkalliam@maui.net
(Is that NOT correct for you?)
So I just blog or use kit@maui.net!
Praying, big time! Lots of Love, Cathryn

I wish all you could have known Kit in high school. He hung out with the jocks because he lettered his freshman year, hung out with the nerds because he was a real good student and actually studied, hung out the ra ras because he was in student goverment and the debate team etc etc. I was rebel and somewhat of a troublemaker and my ilk all liked Kit too because he use to laugh and hang out with us too.The summer between my Junior and Senior year I was going to Hawaii and everyone was really jealous. Kit signed my yearook and said,"To bad your going to Hawaii,we could have had a real blast" I mean he he is staying home and mowing lawns all summer to save money for a car and he really felt bad that I had to go to Hawaii. That spirit, enthusiam, love of life and people brings everyone up. It pains me deeply to see Kit going through all this but it comforts me to know no one could handle it better, God Bless you all, Love Jimi
