Encouraging Bible Verses...

2 Corinthians 12:9-10
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Psalm 18:2
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Psalm 55:22
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.

Kit and Shelly

I gave this to hang for fathers day
Shortly after, it hung at our daughters house before she went to be with the Lord. It is not a bible verse but means alot to me.

God Didn't Promise Days
Without Pain,Laughter
Without Sorrow,Nor Sun
Without Rain. But He
Did Promise Strength For
The Day, Comfort For The
Tears, And Light For The
Way.

We love you and pray each and every day for Gods will. We are so blessed to have Him to pray, talk and lean on. Oh, dear Kit, even in your darkest hours you think of others, it has been our pleasure to have you in our lives.

Good morning Kit and Shelly.
(Cathryn from California here.)
Hang in there, buddy.
Remember God does things in the 11th Hour, right?!

(Look at me and Julian.
Who knew God would preserve me, never married for all my life, so I could be reunited with my high school sweetheart from 1967?!)

HEY, KIT....
Thanks for heading a couple of "counterfeits" off at the pass!
God had the REAL one around the corner. I just had to WAIT!
Thanks for your wise counsel.

I will never forget when I returned from 3 years of missions (Kona YWAM, Asia: Phillipines, Singapore, Hong Kong, China) and then Israel, dancing in the Feast of Tabernacles through the Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, and interceding in the House of Prayer, Mt of Olives, during the Kuwait war,)and when I returned, met you and learned you and Buddy had been praying for me, and you guys hadn't even MET me yet!

Then the three of us ended up in a home fellowship leading worship in your home, must have been 1991 or 1992, for 3 years where you taught, Kit. Looking back, that was the "launching pad" for your pastoring the Friday night meeting. I'll never forget the rich times we had in your home. Especially in worship.

Remember how small groups were supposed to split when you got more than 12, and NOBODY wanted to leave! And then Craig Englert came and visited the fellowship. Next thing I knew the Friday night meeting was launched and you were a pastor. That was awesome.

Just read Shelly and Lisa's entries entries from yesterday.
Surrender is really something, eh, Kit?
Wonderful resting, just resting in the Father's arms.
Don't give up the "fight" (the will to live) unless you hear the Father's voice SO clear, saying, "come up higher!"
OK, my friend?

Or unless and until YOU hear Him say, "I have need of you", OK?
You were heavy on my heart ALL of yesterday in prayer. He's speaking to you, isn't He?

I know He is. You are His.
Hope you got the lyrics to Who Am I that I sent yesterday.

Love you, Kit.
God bless you, Shelly!
You're covered,
Cathryn (True Varlet)

PS. Did you ever hear Phil Keaggy play and sing "Cover Me"? Pretty awesome....

I laughed when I read Shelly's comment about Kit wanting to go over and "talk to that guy" who was being rude. This guy should count himself lucky that Kit is running low on red blood cells. It reminds me of the second Rocky movie when Adrian asks Rocky why he's fighting again and he says, "Men like me don't have a choice". Like I said earlier Kit is a warrior mind, body and spirit. I saw it first in High School when he was a state champion wrestler. In the early 80s, we used to do triathlons. Kit was always the guy who would ride in front, taking all the pulls, on our training rides. He had just come to the Lord and never wanted to do anything half way. He had in bold letters across the back of his cycling jersey "Jesus is the Number One IronMan". I feel like Kit is up front, headwind in his face, bravely pulling us all along right now. Keep on hammering little brother, we're all right behind you.

Praise to God for a Living Hope!
1 Peter: 3-9
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, KIT:) who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in PRAISE GLORY AND HONOR when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

We love you! Praying constantly for both of you, Maisha and Mikey.

Oh my dearest friends...Shelly and Kit...Do we have some memories! I will try to be brief, althouogh, being brief is not something I am good at!
Shelly does not like me to say this...BUT, WE HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR 53 YEARS!...3rd grade was our first encounter...I was lucky to have her very cute twin brother, Mike in my class!
My first encounter with Kit was when Shelly and I were roommates in our 20's...so, I suppose that is almost 40 yrs. now with Kit. Shelly was teaching physical education at a jr. high and met the love of her life, Mr. Lauer, the male P.E. teacher! She said she invited her FRIEND over for dinner...but, after dinner I walked in on them having dessert up against the stove kissing! Well...so, it all began...the intertwined lives of us all!
We have had many, many, many memories on our journeys since then...Before our relationship with Christ and all of these years with Him...some, ecstatically joyful, some extremely painful.
Mixed with both joy and pain, Kit was an intregal part in my receiving Christ (who would have guessed!?)
As we each continue to navigate ourselves through our lives... just yesterday, God pressed upon Kit's heart during his most painful time, to call...for me it was a wonderful timely blessing!!!
I love you both with all of my heart...and am so honored to still be considered your friend after ALL of these years. You are Christ's example of what a marriage should be...sacrificing for each other and putting the other first...an inspiration to us all...
blessings...your long, but not lost
friend...

Kit and Shelly, thinking about you guys and stopping right now in the Press Room at the Mercedes Gold Championship to pray for you. Wish Kid could be here with me to walk the course.

This bible verse is one that I repeat to myself often, Passage John 14:27:
27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." Also when I am going through the worst of my chemo I just think "Be still; and know that I am God". This reminds me who is in control! I pray for Mr. Lauer and your family every day! Trudy Reneman
